Quick Thoughts on Tonight's Episode
November 8th 2006 22:41
First off, I've heard the backstory is Kate's. The title makes it sound like we'll find out about Kate's marriage that she confessed to Sawyer during "I Never".
Radzinsky is dead. Yes, Kelvin Inman was a big liar and a TV spook and everyone knows that TV spooks can't tell the truth to save their lives. Gregg Nations, one of the creative team behind Lost, says that Radzinsky is dead, so he is.
The eye patch man is alive. That was not a recording that Sayid tapped into; it was a living person in another hatch on that monitor.
Will they find the other hatch tonight? The one with the man with the eye patch? I don't know if our Losties will get in, but I think they will locate it. That would make for an excellent cliffhanger. I think I would hate waiting until February to find out what's in that hatch. Nobody asked me, though.
What about on the other side of the island? Or rather, the other island? Hydra Island is not all that big. I can cross forty-four acres in a heartbeat. The major impediment to escape—not counting the dart-blowing, tazer-handling Others—is the water between the islands. Who knows what's out there? Dharma sharks. Dharma orcas. Dharma dolphins. Dharma polar bears. Michael and Walt off-course. Or maybe just a really fast current.
Sawyer will get pummeled again. He's one tough cookie. Not many people could withstand that sort of beating day after day and still look as nice. For all the previews make it look like Sawyer will die, I just don't think it will happen. I know the producers of Lost like to say they take chances never before taken on a network show, but Josh Holloway is a ratings draw. No one on ABC wants to get rid of him.
And then there's Jack and Ben (and Juliet). Apparently, Ben lies down on the operating table, but will Jack actually go through with the surgery? And if he does, will he take Juliet's advice? I don't think he should. If she wants Ben dead, she needs to murder him herself. Jack would be putting himself in a very bad position with no guarantees that she really will protect him. On the other hand, Jack might do the surgery and remove the tumor, only to find that Juliet has injected something into Ben to kill him anyway. Jack would still get the blame in the Others' eyes and Juliet would be in position to take over.
A little more than three hours until the Lost mini-season finale and I can't wait.

I hadn't revisited this post since I saw the episode. I guess I was wrong about the cliffhanger being finding this station. Oh, well. Something else to look forward to.
