Not in Portland Easter Eggs
February 8th 2007 14:55
"Not in Portland" had some interesting revelations, but I didn't see many Easter eggs.
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. Over on the Tail Section, DocArzt researched the exact page Aldo was looking at when Kate, Sawyer, and Alex came up to him. It's about black holes and the bending of time. Rather than reproduce his effort, I'll just direct you to the post.
A Clockwork Orange. Carl was being subjected to behavioral modification therapy a la A Clockwork Orange.
Room 23. Carl was being held in room 23.
108. The number on the monitor when Ben's blood pressure restabilized was 108.
Edmund Burke. Juliet's ex-husband who exerted an unreasonable amount of control on her. More on her susceptibility to manipulation later. Edmund Burke was an 18th century English philosopher and politician, a "liberal conservative", wrote that governing should not be done by abstract ideas, but by organic reform.
Okay, what did I miss? I'll add more later if I catch something new.
Episode recap coming tomorrow.
